Matt Satten: New starters looking to open new eyes An NBA player doesn't have to start to be effective in fantasy basketball -- but it sure helps. Just being on the floor for the game's first six minutes opens up a world of fantasy scoring possibilities that reserves never have a chance to experience. A hot start can cause a coach to play a starter more minutes, too, further limiting the chance for the sixth and seventh men of this world to make a positive impact in the game. The point is, starting players are better options than bench players. The Fantasy Lab is here to analyze a few players who were anointed as starters sometime in the past week. Feel free to thank us later. Publ.Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 17:04:55 -0500 Source: CNN.com
NFL fantasy player rater: The debate rages on about who is the best weapon in football. Is it the flashy quarterback who lofts deep touchdown passes or is it the dynamic backfield option that always seems to have the ball in his hands? The Thinking Chair: Winning is everything, even if it stinks Earlier this year, The Thinking Chair unveiled a new term for fantasy sports -- instead of a draft-day "sleeper," we termed someone who falls below their perceived value to be a "slipper." Speaking humbly, it's a good phrase, and one that many readers acknowledged was more realistic in a day and age where information is so readily available. I mention this because recently, I came up with a new term that is just as apt, if a little less family friendly. Publ.Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 17:04:55 -0500 Source: CNN.com
